Quick hello
I'm still around! Just trying to mentally get thru the bingefest that finally ended on Saturday! The 3 pounds I gained from it somehow fell off it may have been due to the 10k I did Saturday!!! I mainly walked but there were parts where I ran :) all thanks to couch to 5k I can't wait for the moment where I can run an entire 5k
Anyhoos there is a bake sale at work and the table of cookies is calling me but I will resist!! I said no!!
Also my new desk neighbor as a bowl of candy that is literally in my periferual (sp?) view and I don't know how much longer I can last eeeeep!!!

binging and running
Okay so its been a few days and I'm still struggling with my TOM coming soon so I'm still having problems resisting the urge for chocolate and other terrible foods. grr!.. It's very very hard. On Monday i literally had 2 pieces of chocolate cake.. TWO PIECES! I don't know whats going on this period needs to come so i can stop eating like crazy. I've gained 2 pounds so im back up to 210. Besides the holidays this week has the been the hardest week food wise. I WILL GET PAST THIS!
BUT! i haven't given up on couch to 5k! last night i did the 1st day of week two which was running for 90 seconds and walking for 2 minutes and seriously i already can tell a difference in my stamina that first day i got so winded about half way through and last night i didn't get that side stitch until the last run. I'm very impressed and I'm really looking forward to being done and being able to run and run and run!

drum roll please!!!
I've got a couple of HUGE announcements!!!
I'll start with the smallest accomplishment first. Last night after watching half of the biggest loser it was 8pm so i went for my daily( or nightly) workout as I was about to head out of the door Kelly asked "how long are you working out for?" I said " uhhh.. 30 minutesi dunno" and he said "Go longer! go for 45 minutes." I replied with "okay?" Then he said "No do 47." I laughed and said "Okay I'll do 47 minutes on the elliptical." I walked my happy butt down the 3 flights of stairs and you know what ... i did 50 minutes on the elliptical!!! IN YO FACE! I was absolutely amp'd and so very proud of myself. I'm definitely feeling it today though, especially in my stomach muscles. LOL but it was worth every 50 minutes of it :)
Now for the second announcement.. this one is quite a bit larger! I have officially lost a total of 40 pounds! :) :) I weighed in this morning because Monday morning i wasn't feeling it and the scale read 208!! booo yeah!! :)
and last but definitely not least!.... I started Couch to 5K tonight.. yeah i know i said i would start May 1st but i downloaded the Iphone application this morning and i was just far too excited to give it a try. I AM BEAT! I almost gave up in that 7th and 8th runs but i just stayed focused and kept going. I'm so excited i CAN be a runner! :)
I am so exhausted, I've got my giant glass of water and going to lay in bed and rest with the husband and watch the slammin' salmon. Good night!! :)

running running.. as fast as you can
I want to run a 5k.. not walk... run. I'm not anywhere near that point but that's ONE of my many goals.
I have looked into the app for the iphone called Couch to 5k and i plan on starting that on May 1st.
I made those two meals this weekend from the 1001 low carb cook book , the chicken burritos and the mock hamburger helper. Kelly , the picky eating husband, said the mock hamburger helper was "okay", I loved it! It gave me enough leftovers for the whole week of lunches AND its low calorie! The chicken burritos were pretty good ( as Kelly said ). The chicken breasts simmer in the crock pot for like 5 hours with a mixture of chili powder, lime juice, garlic and jalapenos and its gooood. not too spicy and just really tender and delicious!
I think I overall did pretty well this week. I'm going to do my official weigh in of the week tomorrow morning when i wake up . Cross your fingers people!! And to all you out there also eating healthy remember tomorrow is a new day!!

price check! isle 3!
I went grocery shopping tonight. I love going grocery shopping because i get to spend so much time in the produce section and i just love it. I picked up cantaloupe since its been on sale for the past 2-3 weeks I've been getting one every week. I loooooove cantaloupe. I also love honeydew but for some reason I can't seem to find it when I'm there.
The menu for the week is...
Saturday -Chicken Burritos from the 1001 low carb meals book
Sunday -a "Hamburger Helper" knockoff with turkey meat and low carb noodles , i couldn't find any low carb noodles at my local HEB so i got the Smart Taste kind.
Monday - our one night to eat out probably subway or something
Tuesday - Chicken Quesadillas on whole wheat tortillasWednesday - Lean Burgers on those thin little bun thingsThursday - Tacos for the husband and a taco salad for me
Friday - possible date night :)
I will definitely post some pictures and rate the new recipes I am trying this weekend. I sure hope they are gooood :) I love just reading that cookbook even though I'm not completely LOW CARB but I do want to minimize my carbs on a daily or weekly basis so this book helps. The recipes all have ingredients that are normal not weird things that nobody buys like chickpeas or whatnot.
Unfortunately I didnt get to work out tonight because of going to the grocery store, but i normally work out 5-6 days a week so no biggie :)

yummm... to yuck!
EDIT : i was alerted that there was a problem with leaving comments! sorry ya'll! its back to normal now so comment away ! :)
Sometimes i miss the foods i used to eat.. the terrible terrible foods i used to eat. This past Sunday me and my friend Lyn went to get a Cinnabon and i ate an entire classic Cinnabon it had 750 calories. Yes, i just said 750 calories. The moment after i ate it i felt sick and woozy from all the sugar. That's when i realized i hadn't eaten anything with that amount of sugar in a very very very long time. yuck. i am still trying to work off the calories from that LOL.
I have changed alot of my eating habits since September for instance me and my husband used to make dinner 2 times a week and eat out the other 5 days, fast food mostly. Now we eat out 2 days a week and make food the other 5 days. I'm pretty proud of ourselves but every now and then i totally crave a disgusting meal from jack in the box or tons and tons of fried foods! haha! the moral to the story is that i will get past the cravings or succumb but then regret it immediately. haha!

i just got back from the fitness center and out of the shower and watching tonight's dvr'd episode of the biggest loser. i had to drag myself out of bed to go but i did it. i did 30 minutes on the elliptical with about 98% of the time the resistance being higher than 8 not bad if i do say so myself. im trying to push it. its so much easier for me to push it when someone is with me, like with my friend kristy on our walks we ran up the two sets of stairs we run into on our two laps and i really pushed myself to not wuss out and stop.. but when im by myself.. ugh sooo tough!
mmmm i love fudgesicles. they give my that chocolate craving without the chocolate calories. they are only 40 calories for one bar! perfect for that after dinner ice cream/chocolate fix.
My step mom bought me this 1001 low carb cookbook and i've already stuck post it notes all over the place. This weekend we are actually trying a few recipes so we will see how that goes!! one of them is like a fake hamburger helper thing and the other is whats called a chicken burrito but it sounds way more like a chicken taco haha. anyhoo! i hope they are good! ill keep ya'll posted!

wish list...
--part of me wants either the gruve or the go wear fit just so i can see exactly how much im burning during the day but i dont know if i can justify spending 200 dollars on it.
- kettle ball, they use it on the biggest loser that must mean something
- new bathing suit, one thats good for swimming i particularly like this one from target
- wii fit, i know it probably would burn more calories doing the actual activity but it seems like i would be fun especially the hula hooping and yoga.
Hi, My name is Ashley and im an overeater and junk food junkie....
This was me taken on 4/24/09 @ about 248 pounds.
I am starting this blog a little late into my journey but im still starting it! I started to change my life September of 2009 when i realized i weighed 248 pounds. I moved to an apartment that was one the 3rd floor and hated being winded and out of breath every time i went upstairs. So! i did something about it, i downloaded an application from Itunes called Lose it!. It's an application that allows you to track your calories, your exercise and the weigh ins.
This is me 3/5/10 @ about 215 pounds.
I weighed in today after a total pig out fest yesterday with a classic cinnabon which had 750 calories.. yes i just said 750 calories. so when i just weighed in it was at 211 today. so that makes for a total of weight loss at 37 pounds, but im definitely on my way. I work out about 5-6 times a week at my apartment complexes fitness center. I generally lift weights for about 10 mins and then do the elipitcal for 30-45 minutes.
For lunch today i had leftover homemade pizza from last nights dinner... I used this recipe Eating Well Whole Wheat Pizza dough, top it off with some pizza sauce, italian cheese mix , turkey pepperoni, bell peppers and onions and its only estimated at 382 calories for 2 slices of pizza! :) yum yum yum.
